RTX 4080 in Dubai: Where It Fits a Business Workstation in 2026
The RTX 4080 is a 16 GB, 320 W GeForce card, and in Dubai it suits one kind of business buyer well: a design, visualisation or video team that wants fast single-user rendering and AV1 encoding at a desk, and does not need ECC memory or a server rack. NVIDIA's own specification lists 9,728 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR6X on a 256-bit interface and a 750 W system power requirement. If your work needs more than 16 GB on the card, or the card is going into a data centre, buy something else.
That second condition is contractual rather than technical, and it is the part most RTX 4080 quotations in the UAE leave out. The specification comes first, then the licence clause, then the three physical checks that decide whether the card fits the machine you already own.
What NVIDIA publishes for the RTX 4080
The figures below come from NVIDIA's RTX 4080 family page, read on 14 October 2026. They describe the Founders Edition reference design, and NVIDIA notes that add-in-card makers can vary them, so a board built by a partner brand can be longer, draw more power or clock higher than this table shows.
| Specification | RTX 4080 | RTX 4080 SUPER |
|---|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 9,728 | 10,240 |
| Boost clock | 2.51 GHz | 2.55 GHz |
| Memory | 16 GB GDDR6X, 256-bit | 16 GB GDDR6X, 256-bit |
| Total graphics power | 320 W | 320 W |
| Average gaming power | 251 W | 246 W |
| Required system power | 750 W | 750 W |
| Video encoders | 2 x 8th generation NVENC, AV1 encode | 2 x 8th generation NVENC, AV1 encode |
| Size | 304 mm long, 137 mm wide, 3 slots | 304 mm long, 137 mm wide, 3 slots |
The SUPER is a refresh with 512 more CUDA cores inside the same 320 W envelope and the same 16 GB. For a business buyer the two are close enough that the quotation on the day should decide it, not the badge. Codeeo Tech lists the original RTX 4080 in its NVIDIA range.
The licence clause that decides where an RTX 4080 can live
NVIDIA's driver licence agreement, in the version dated 25 February 2025, says in section 2.8 that GeForce or Titan software is licensed for use only on GeForce or Titan hardware you own, and is not licensed for datacenter deployment. The agreement does not define what a datacenter is. Read plainly, an RTX 4080 under a designer's desk in a JLT office is the use the licence expects, and a row of them in a rented rack serving remote users is the use it excludes.
This comes up in Dubai more than people expect. A firm in Business Bay wants a shared render or AI box, prices it with GeForce cards because they are the familiar name, and plans to put it in a colocation cabinet. The build may work on day one and still sit outside the driver licence once it moves into a data hall. If the plan is a shared server, the professional and data centre cards in the NVIDIA range are the ones licensed for that job.
Three physical checks before you order
Power supply
The 320 W board figure is not the one that catches people out. NVIDIA's 750 W required system power is. Two RTX 4080 workstations at that rating already account for 1,500 W of supply capacity before monitors, which is why the UPS conversation should happen before the purchase order, and why the difference between VA and watts on a UPS nameplate matters here.
The connector matters too. NVIDIA lists three PCIe 8-pin cables through the adapter in the box, or one 450 W or greater PCIe Gen 5 cable. Read the label on the target machine's power supply: if it is under 750 W, or has fewer than three free PCIe 8-pin leads, the card is the start of the upgrade rather than the whole of it.
Chassis length and slots
The Founders Edition is 304 mm long and occupies three slots. Many compact business desktops cannot take a card that size, and partner boards are often longer still. Check the maximum graphics card length in the chassis specification sheet, not the marketing page, and count the slots under the primary PCIe x16 position, because a 137 mm wide cooler can also foul a front fan bracket.
Where the heat goes
Every one of those 320 watts ends up as heat in the room. At a desk in a cooled open-plan office that is rarely a problem. In a small cupboard that also holds a switch and a NAS, it is how a summer afternoon outage starts, and the room rules in our note on cooling a comms room in Dubai summer conditions apply to a GPU workstation parked in one.
Where the RTX 4080 is the right call
- Single-user rendering and visualisation. GPU renderers scale with CUDA cores, and 9,728 of them with 16 GB of memory cover most architectural and product scenes a Dubai studio handles on one seat.
- Video and content teams. NVIDIA lists two 8th generation NVENC encoders with AV1 encode on the RTX 4080. Its RTX 3080 page lists a 7th generation encoder and no AV1 encode line, so a team moving its delivery to AV1 gains a capability here, and a second encoder on top.
- Local AI experiments. A 7 billion parameter model stored at 16 bits needs about 14 GB for its weights alone, which fits in 16 GB with little to spare. At 8 bits the same model needs about 7 GB and leaves room for context. That arithmetic, not the CUDA count, decides what you can run.
Where it is the wrong call
- Work that needs ECC memory. NVIDIA lists the RTX 4000 Ada Generation with 20 GB of GDDR6 with error correction at 130 W in a single slot. For engineering simulation, finance models or anything where a silent flipped bit is expensive, that trade wins.
- Scenes or models over 16 GB. The RTX 4090 carries 24 GB on a 384-bit interface, but NVIDIA rates it at 450 W with an 850 W system requirement, so the power and heat questions above get harder.
- Shared or rack deployment. Section 2.8 of the driver licence, as above.
Warranty and who you call when it fails
NVIDIA's GeForce warranty page sets three years from the date of purchase for NVIDIA-branded cards, and tells buyers who purchased from a third party to contact their local distributor or reseller rather than NVIDIA. Partner-built boards carry the board maker's own terms. Ask the supplier to state on the quotation who handles a return in the UAE and from which date the cover runs, and read our guide to genuine versus grey market hardware before accepting a card with no clear channel behind it.
What to send with an RTX 4080 enquiry
- The workload and the largest scene, dataset or model it has to hold, so 16 GB can be checked against it.
- The make and model of the target workstation, its power supply wattage and its free PCIe 8-pin leads.
- The chassis maximum card length and slot clearance.
- Where the machine will sit: a desk, a comms room or a rack.
- Who should hold the warranty, in your company's name.
Every item on the Codeeo Tech store is priced through Add to Quote. Send those five answers through the contact form from Building A1, IFZA Business Park in Dubai Silicon Oasis, and the reply can confirm the card and flag a power or fit problem before it reaches your desk.
